I met with Brian in July 2015. I wanted to become a better me. I have always been active in fitness but wanted to loose weight and gain muscle. I had the vision of competing as a body builder but being in my early 60’s I did not have full confidence that I could reach that goal. My journey with Brian as my personal trainer took me to heights beyond my imagination.
What I particularly like about Brian is he is passionate about fitness and nutrition. He shows this through his energy and enthusiasm that he brings to every session. He designed workout programs that kept me motivated, and challenged. He places high value on correct form with each exercise. Brian adapted my program to accommodate my injured rotator cuff. He takes utmost care and concern for your well being.
Brian’s knowledge and belief of proper nutrition and clean eating helped me to create a lean healthy body fuelled with energy. I shed toxins and felt awesome while feeling fully satisfied with plenty of nutritious foods.
As my training continued the vision of standing on stage was becoming a reality. Brains coaching, mental support, accommodation of schedules, and communication was what i needed to believe it could happen. The changes in my health have been remarkable. I did the work, followed the plan and listened to my coach. There were set backs with injury, break down in diet, and self sabotage.
June 25th 2016 a life event took place. I proudly stood on stage with my transformed body and mind and competed in a body building bikini competition. I became a better me!!
Whatever your needs or goals are in your health Brian has the experience and knowledge to get those results. I highly recommend meeting with Brian as your personal trainer. Best thing I ever did for my health and fitness!
I began working with Brian in the first part of September 2016. I was recommended to him by one of his other clients.
First off a little about myself. In 2009 I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. I spent about 5 years having to depend on oxygen 24/ 7. In 2011 I was assessed for a lung transplant. At the time I could barely walk 30 feet without great difficulty. In November 2014 I was fortunate enough to receive the gift of life of a double lung transplant. In the late fall of 2015 I joined a local gym. I worked mainly on the treadmill and with light weight exercises to regain my strength and stamina, this helped very little. At the time I was also having severe back issues due to such a long period (6 years) of inactivity and somewhat due to medication side effects.
I came to Brian in the early part of summer 2016. After a few hiccups with other side effect issues we got down to business. Over the last few months the difference has been remarkable to say the least. With Brian’s inspiration and knowledge he now has me working in a correct manner. My strength and stamina has greatly improved.
Together with Brian, I have a goal in mind to participate in the 2018 Canadian Transplant Association summer games.
Thanks to Executive Health And Fitness, at age 64 I feel like 40.
Brian has been my personal trainer for a couple of years. I always look forward to his sessions and find them a very positive experience. Brian is a very upbeat, passionate and knowledgeable personal trainer with a flexible personality. He makes each session challenging and enjoyable. He always motivates me to do my best during the sessions and I enjoy this aspect of working out. Brian places importance on correct form for each exercise I do so that I am able to maximize the benefits of the workout.
Due to being involved in a variety of demanding physical activities such as competitive volleyball and marathon running, I sometimes experience muscle soreness and joint pain. On many occasions when I have felt pain or irritation, Brian has modified the exercises so that I am able to work my way through them pain free. I really appreciate this element of my workouts. Brian has offered many excellent suggestions for dealing with the minor injuries and soreness, which have worked out well for me. He is very knowledgeable about how the body functions, especially on a performance level. He has also offered many valid and positive suggestions for improving my diet. Among other things, this has helped to lower my high CK levels. A high CK level is often a marker for muscle damage.
My goal as an active 63 year old is to gain more strength and flexibility to help me continue improving my volleyball skills and half marathon running, as well as continuing to maintain my current activity level for as long as possible. As a result of Brian’s efforts, I have noticed a marked difference in my flexibility, strength and energy level. I recently had my fitness assessment at The University of Manitoba, which resulted in my best results ever. I improved in virtually all areas over my last assessment. This included increased core, grip, lower and upper body strength, as well as increased flexibility and balance. My upper body strength and endurance improved more than 30% since my last assessment! Brian has been very much a part of this improvement! I would highly recommend him as a personal trainer.
On my way to transforming to a healthy lifestyle
I have been a client of Brian’s for 8 months and I have been on the receiving end of his knowledge, encouragement and training, all to my benefit.
I didn’t start out to do anything other than get moving and look nice in my wedding dress. I realized though that when I started at the gym it felt like it always does; I don’t know what to do. My fiancé thought I would benefit from working with a trainer so bought me some sessions with Brian for Christmas. What a blessing!
Since December 2012, I have worked with Brian on a weekly basis improving my health and mobility each step of the way. I used to be very active in martial arts but had to give it up because of knee injuries. Brian has found a solution to every problem, and we have worked to improve the strength in my legs to support my knees so that the mobility and pain are no longer a problem. And I know my husband will think that I look amazing in my wedding dress. I have lost inches including 5 ½ from my waist and 23 lbs and counting! Pretty exciting.
It’s easy doing all of this because it’s easy to take direction from a great coach. Brian knows what he’s talking about and walks the talk. He is not a drill sergeant but does motivate you to do the work. It’s worth it. My life has changed in a positive way. I have new goals and look forward to my continued work with Brian to achieve them.
I would like to recommend Brian Forsythe as a personal trainer.
When I began looking for a trainer, I was hoping to find an individual that would work together with my chiropractor. I was suffering from lower back issues which caused both legs to become weak and my muscles to become so tight I lived with pain 24/7.
Meeting Brian and working with him has given me my mobility back!
When we first met, we discussed my:
– current health concerns
– physical strength
– goals
Once all the formalities were completed, it was time to begin a rehab program. Brian’s knowledge of body mechanics is exceptional. He monitored the amount of weight I was lifting, and my body position while lifting. He would ensure that the muscles that should be exerting themselves were in fact the ones that I was working. I am excited to share that we have moved from rehab to strength training and with each workout, I can feel my body strengthening. In fact I can now go from a squatting position to standing without using my hands and the leg pain is no longer. Brian is very passionate and takes his ability to train individuals very seriously. He works to ensure that your goals are achieved. I highly recommend Brian as a personal trainer.
I’ve been working with Brian for over a year now; I have seen amazing results in that time. I have never felt stronger or healthier. Brian is passionate about fitness and it shows through every session I have with him. Brian is easy going, friendly and creates a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
Before Brian I had never stepped foot in a gym, I was petrified going in for the first time, before going to the gym for my first workout, Brian came to me, we talked in my office about what I was looking for from our training together. I explained I had a right knee replacement 9 months before and since then I have not really been keeping up with my exercises which were required to keep my new knee in good shape. I also explained to Brian I would need surgery on my left knee as well, it was also in need. I struggled each day just to get through my day.
Well I can tell you, what a transformation, Brian started very slow with me, but also makes each workout challenging, creative and most importantly, fun! He also places a high value on correct form with each exercise. Brian has motivated me to push past my perceived limits to get results. I now have incredible energy, my flexibility has improved immensely, I’ve got great new muscles and to top it all off, I’ve lost 60 lbs in the process. If you are serious about changing your life for the better, Brian will lead you every step of the way. I now think I may not need that second knee surgery.
Thank you Brian, you have made me see that I can do anything I put my mind to! I feel like you have helped me get my life back. I can’t tell you enough how much that means to me.
After surgery to repair a broken shoulder and upper arm, I had limited mobility and strength on my right side. I was always protecting that arm, afraid of damaging it any further by lifting anything too heavy or straining it by being too active. What I didn’t realize was that by limiting my use of that arm, I was actually setting myself up for more long-term pain and problems.
Brian evaluated my range of motion, discussed my concerns and my goals, and set up a program for me. I was ready to try, but I didn’t want to let myself hope for too much. After all, the damage was considerable and a part of me didn’t think things could get much better. Only six months later, I am lifting more weight than I ever dreamed possible. And what seems crazy to me is that I actually have less pain than I did before. Using my arm to full capacity and working regularly to improve my range of motion means I am repairing and rebuilding the damage – not creating more.
It took Brian’s trained eye and extensive knowledge of physiology to know how much to push and what exercise’s would help support the joint best. He is constantly re-evaluating to ensure that my form is correct and that everything is moving properly. He believes that it’s never too late and that there is always something you can do to improve your situation. His encouragement has helped me see that it’s true. You really can take charge of your health, and if you put in the time, you can get the results you’re looking for.
I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made and I’m looking forward to many more great sessions! Thanks, Brian!
I have been working out with Brian Forsythe as my personal trainer for the last two and a half months. I have a condition called Ankylosing Sponylitis, which is a fusion of vertebrae in my mid-back and I also have Osteoarthritis. Due to my conditions my movement and range of motion was limited and I was beginning to develop a hunch in my spine.
When I first started out with Brian he took the time with me to go over workouts carefully so I would not cause further damage and stressed connecting the brain to the muscle on every movement. I greatly appreciate his patience and care as he has given me his full attention at every workout session.
Two and a half months later I now experience greater flexibility, strength and range of motion, in not just my back, but throughout my body. Since I have been working out my Arthritis rarely bothers me, when it used to cause daily pain. I feel stronger, more energized and my friends and family even say I’ve grown two inches taller.
After having Brian as my personal trainer I would strongly recommend him to friends and family as I have achieved great results and a better understanding of how to safely workout and look after myself.
